9:00 AM Deeper Life Classes Begin

  • All the Places to Go (6 Sessions)
  • Sept 18-Oct 23; Welcome Room
  • Facilitated by Paul Lucks

Very rarely in the Bible does God command someone to “Stay.” He opens a door, and then he invites us to walk through it—into the unknown. And how we choose to respond will ultimately determine the life we will lead and the person we will become. In fact, to fail to embrace the open door is to miss the work God has made for us to do. Our lives are filled with divine appointments, unlimited opportunities to join God in an amazing adventure. We just need to have faith enough to walk through the doors God has opened for us.  This class will help you recognize these doors and have faith enough to walk through them.

  • Generosity: Responding to God’s Radical Grace in Community (7 Sessions)
  • Sept 18-Oct 30; Room 205 A
  • Facilitated by Shina Tomori and Team

According to the Bible, generosity is so much more than just being generous with your money. The source of generosity that is truly radical is a gospel-transformed heart that has received the costly grace of God. This class featuring Tim Keller on DVD will explore seven passages from the book of Luke and learn to answer questions such as: What does it look like to be a more hospitable community? Where can we find the resources to forgive those who have wronged us? And how can we become better stewards of our money? What it means to be generous through service, through relationships, through hospitality, through the privileges and power we hold, and lastly, through our wealth.

  • The Cure (7 Sessions)
  • Sept 18-Oct 30; Room 205 A
  • Facilitated by Larry Snapp; Cost: $12 for Workbook

We thought we were cured. We thought so, but eventually most of us unwittingly carry an old, dead outlook into our new life. We couldn’t measure up to a standard we created, so we convinced ourselves it was God’s. We read His words through our grid of shame and felt ourselves fall farther and farther behind. We took it out on each other; judging, comparing, faking, splintering. Some of us retreated from the whole charade, becoming cynical, mistrusting, jaded from hope. Our marriages, churches, families, friendships, our marketplaces, our culture... they all need the cure. But God’s cures rarely come in the form we expect. What if, indeed, God is not who we think he is... and neither are we? This DVD and discussion series by John Lynch, Bruce McNicol, and Bill Thrall will address these issues.
